Mr. Hasan Pezük was born in Gümüşhane, in 1970. He graduated from Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1995 as an Electrical Engineer.

He started his professional life in 1996 in the Directorate General of IETT of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipal (IBB) and has worked in the Departments of Construction Maintenance-Repair, Rail Systems, Machinery Supply as Engineer, Chief Controller, and Rail System Project Manager in the Directorate of Special Projects.

He also worked as executive in Technical Services Department, Directorate of City Lighting and Energy, Rail System Directorate of Transport Department, European Side Rail System Directorate of Rail System Department of IBB. In 2019, he voluntarily resigned from IBB.

Mr. Pezük, who has performed many successful works in feasibility, survey, design and construction phases of rail systems throughout his professional life, has made great contribution in expanding metro and tram systems in Istanbul.

He has played many important roles in the management of all construction works, testing, commissioning and acceptance processes of Rail System Lines under the responsibility of IBB (Metro, Light Metro, Tram, Aerial Cableway, Monorail).

He also has contributed to the domestic industry through his successful works to increase domestic participation rate in the technical specification preparation, tendering, procurement and testing-commissioning processes of metro, light metro and tram vehicles purchased by IBB.

Additionally, he has studied on remote control-automation application for lighting systems of main arterial routes and streets throughout Istanbul, and energy efficiency of buildings and facilities of IBB.

He has held office as member of the Boards of Kültür AŞ, İGDAŞ, KİPTAŞ of İBB and İZBAN.

He started to work as Consultant to the Directorate General of TCDD in November 2019 and then was appointed as Head of Railway Modernisation Department of Directorate General of TCDD in February, 2020.

Following his appointment as Chairman of the Board and Director General of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ in 2021, he was appointed as Chairman of the Board and Director General of Directorate General of TCDD in 2022.
