She graduated from Gazi University, Department of City and Regional Planning in 1993. He completed the Regional Planning Master's program at METU in 1996. Ebru V.ÖCALIR completed her Ph.D. in 2003 at the Department of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering at the Vienna Technical University in Austria, where she went with a YÖK scholarship in 1999. With the scholarship she received from YÖK, she continued her post-doc studies on modeling transportation and land use relationship at Vienna Technical University in Austria between October 2010 and December 2010. She is still a lecturer at Gazi University, Department of City and Regional Planning. She is also the Transportation Research Director of the Urban Studies Institute. She has two international books on transportation and transportation systems planning, urban planning, sustainability, Geographic Information Systems and Decision Support Systems, and one book on urban transportation.
